Grand glamour takes inspiration from old Hollywood and is all about rich fabrics, opulent finishes and luxe accessories. The palette is dark and confident, with shades of emerald green, silver, gold, navy blue and aubergine at the forefront.
Upholstered bedheads in dark, moody tones look even better with bed linen and accessories that contrast in light, colour and texture. The Duchess bed by Forty Winks is perfectly complemented with Private Collection’s Westcott White and Symphony round cushions. Westcott features a soft cotton sateen cover, luxuriously quilted in a chevron pattern for heightened surface texture. This range has the versatility to complement surrounding fabrics and patterns or work on its own for simple sophistication. Westcott White includes a 260 x 240cm coverlet, a pillow sham, European pillowcase and long cushion.
Symphony cushions by Private Collection are the ultimate glamorous accessory. Soft velvet is gathered and ruched, then secured with a decorative, velvet covered button. Featured here in black and silver, they are also available in cadet, dusk and gold.
The Sienna upholstered bed by Forty Winks is a contemporary take on Grand Glamour. The vibrant spa colour looks stunning when paired with Logan & Mason’s Lior Silver cotton-rich bed linen. The monochrome tones and silvery shadows of the foliage pattern really pop against the bedhead and dark furniture.
Davinci’s Sultan Bronze square cushion amps the glamour. This diamond jacquard accessory with gold tassel trim adds a rich, textured accent.
The White Room
There’s a resurgence of all white bedroom furniture which lends itself to a whole range of interior styles – think Hamptons, coastal, provincial, modern and everything in-between. When choosing bed linen for an all-white suite, texture is key. The Brinkley by Forty Winks is elegantly highlighted with Private Collection’s Manon Silver. This beautiful story features ornate flutes and scrolls woven in low-relief giving the fabric depth and luxurious texture. The tonal silver-on-silver palette adds contemporary sophistication.
Beige is not boring. In fact, it can be a welcoming backdrop to dress up or down. The Louvre sleigh bed by Forty Winks is a classic example of combining traditional and modern styles. The calming ambience is highlighted with Florence Broadhurst’s Tropical Floral bed linen. This 300 thread count cotton sateen print uses a clever interplay of patterns to add vitality to the neutral linen and white palette. The look is heightened with the co-ordinating accessories, luxuriously quilted for downy soft texture.
